Which position you choose is highly dependent on how much time you want to spend in school. To become an actual doctor, a lot of rigorous schooling is required. However, the field of medicine does have positions that do not require as much schooling. It seems like most people look up to people who choose to teach; however, in most situations that respect is not reflected in their salaries. If you choose to teach, teaching in a private school setting may allow for more earnings. After some time, you can move into an administrative position which would also allow for a higher salary.
Also, professions within the realm of technology are going to be quite secure with the society becoming more and more reliant on technological advances. With the continual release of new technological advances, there is going to be a continuing need for professionals to work with and improve these advances. Because there will almost always be investors willing to fund research on creating more efficient technology, a career in this field would be very secure.
No matter what field you decide to go into, it is important to be aware of what education, training, and certifications are needed to work in this field. You will want to make sure you are devoted to your studies, because it will be important when it comes to applying for further schooling, training, or even an actual job. Though prestige is seemingly important, it is good to remember that having a passion for and calling to whatever field you choose to go into is undoubtedly more important. Remember that it is more important for you to love what you are doing than for society to love that you’re doing.
