The Trek bicycle corporation is as well known for its advocacy work as it is for the quality Trek mountain bikes and road bikes that it produces. This month, for the second year, the corporation has renewed its support for Go by Bike month, in partnership with some of the biggest advocacy groups in the country. Go by Bike Month will run at participating dealers of Trek mountain bikes and road bikes through the entire month of June and if you were thinking of getting a Trek mountain bike or road bike, now is the time to do so. With their purchase from the range of Trek mountain bikes or road bikes in the month of June, customers will be offered twelve months’ membership to either the LCC or the CTC. Buyers will also receive an information pack from sustainable travel group Sustrans. Not only this but dealers will be giving away free helmets with the purchase of Trek mountain bikes or road bikes during the month long campaign.

Trek launched the campaign for the first time last June. Its aim was to encourage people to take up cycling for commuting and leisure purposes. This year the campaign aims to do the same whilst offering more support to those who already cycle. This is why there is also advocacy group membership on offer this year rather than just special offers on Trek mountain bikes and road bikes. Trek’s aim in giving free membership to the LCC or CTC is to give more support to existing cyclists and giving new cyclists the confidence to get on their two wheels. Boosting the numbers of people regularly using bikes to get around has many benefits to health, finance and the environment and increased support for cyclists is always welcome.
