Nobody can deny the glaring differences between the male and female forms. For years, designers of sports clothing and equipment have let the physical differences between the sexes influence their designs, so why should mountain bikes ignore the differences? These days the mountain bike designers are taking the differences into consideration. The majority of mountain bike brands now produce WSD bikes, tailored to the needs of the female form. Orange mountain bikes’ take on the perfect bike for the female form comes in the shape of the Diva, which has been carefully designed by the brains at Orange mountain bikes to suit the female physique, offering the kind of confidence and comfort in a ride that just isn’t possible for a smaller lady rider on a traditional bike.

Female riders will be in no doubt about why WSD bikes are such a necessity. Bikes designed for men put smaller women into a stretched position, making the ride uncomfortable and creating difficulty in negotiating even simple trails. The Diva models from Orange mountain bikes are purposely designed to give back control and the ensuing confidence on the trails.

Orange mountain bikes have made the Diva available in both a hardtail model and the Five Diva, which is a full suspension model. Both models feature ‘the perfect geometry for the smaller feminine physique. The designers behind Orange mountain bikes made the Diva with the aim of placing the rider in a central position on the bike for better control and a more stable ride. The models feature a shorter top tube and a steeper seat tube angle, pushing the rider forward over the bike. This keeps more weight on the front end and gives a more aggressive riding position. The steep seat angle gives easy manoeuvrability and control on ascents.

These models have a very low stand over clearance, allowing them to comfortably accommodate riders of five feet and under. But the beauty of these models is that, amongst the female specific changes, Orange mountain bikes have left the technology intact.
