As the first National Monument of the United States Devils Tower not only has a long history with the United States but an even longer one with the Native American Indians. The Tower is a sacred place to many of the tribes with rituals including such things as
prayer offerings, sweat lodge ceremonies, vision quests and funerals. It is sacred to over 20 tribes that still come to the Tower today.

When the Tower is not closed for tribal ceremonies (in June) those interested in rock climbing come to take the challenge of reaching the top. The first climb was in 1893 with a ladder 350 ft. long driven with wooden stakes into a continuous vertical crack running between two columns on the southeast side of the Tower. Today climbers free climb to avoid causing any damage to the rock.

The area is also home to a number of wildlife such as the prairie falcons which sometimes nest in the cracks of the Tower. Climbing routes near the nest are closed until the young falcons fledge. There are also prairie dogs, other birds and small wildlife that make this area home as well as the deer population.

vaporiser

A herbal vaporizer is an extraction instrument commonly used to release medicinal and/or compounds from plant material, probably the most commonly used herb is cannabis, although vaporiser can also be used for tobacco or to release certain therapeutic compounds from herb material, a practice now commonly known as Phyto-Inhalation. For medical or recreational cannabis users, vaporizing is an alternative to smoking. Rather than igniting the cannabis, a herbal vaporizer heats it enough (typically around 210 degrees Celsius) so that the volatile psychoactive and medicinal constituents contained in the plant’s oily secretions melt and phase into an aromatic herbal mist[/spam] that does not contain the particulate matter such as tars and other toxins found in the smoke.

Subsequently, the vapor is inhaled in the case of most vaporizers such as the shortcomings of smoked cannabis have been widely viewed as a major obstacle for approval of crude cannabis for medical users even though many studies clearly indicate that the strong expectorant activity of THC probably compensates for much of the ingested tars in a manner not akin to the smoking of material by causing the user to cough up the tars in mucous discharges after to the smoking. Nevertheless, in response to the concerns many show great variations in performance, such studies have always found vaporization superior to smoking, and high-end vaporizers used with High Grade Hybrid aromatherapy strains containing elevated levels of the medicinal and psychoactive ingredient in material have been found to entirely eliminate inhalation of unwanted compounds in a manner consistent enough for clinical trials. In comparison to material use methods such as eating, vaporization offers the advantages of inhaling THC: rapid onset, direct delivery into the bloodstream, and the possibility to gradually increase delivery until the desired level is reached, in this manner enabling more effective .

Today’s children are much different than kids even just a one or two decades ago.  With advances in computer and video game systems, time outside has been traded for hour upon hour spent in front of a screen.  At one time children spent hours outside playing with their friends, touring around on their bikes and exploring the world around them, but this has all but vanished in many cities and towns throughout North America. The lack of exercise in today’s children is proving to have serious health consequences and time spent with family is being traded for time spent with TV, Video Games and Computer Games.

Mountain biking can be a great sport that a family can do together that will help to get children outside and exercising.  A regular Saturday or Sunday trail ride can be a great way for a family to spend time together away from the pressures of everyday life, and away from the much loved video games.  Even this simple weekly event can help to set your children in the right direction when it comes to regular exercise and it also provides Mom and Dad with the opportunity to spend time with the kids and get away from work responsibilities.
